Jim Baxter wins prestigious award

purpleTV has been successful at the Royal Television Society Scotland Awards 2016, with a win for Jim Baxter in the Best Sport Programme category. The film, broadcast on BBC ALBA, is the intimate portrayal of the personal and professional life of the renowned Scottish football legend.

This is the second year in succession that we have won this award, having won with Jock Stein in 2015. We are absolutely thrilled!

The awards ceremony, held at Òran Mòr in Glasgow and hosted by Catriona Shearer and Sanjeev Kohli, celebrates the gold standard in television and production talent in Scotland.

purpleTV received two nominations, with our film Tartan Pride also shortlisted in the Best Sport Programme category. Our film, Gothenburg 83, and our smartphone app BookCity Edinburgh, were both nominated for RTS awards in 2014.

The films were presented by Alex O'Henley and written, produced and directed by Margot McCuaig.

We have posted a few photographs from the night over on our Facebook page.

Thank you so much for all your support and congratulatory messages. We really appreciate it!
